In the March 2001 issue of Nitro it said there is only a FTGT and the RTR. What happened to the Team? I looked on omnimodels and they have some GT kits that are labeled discontinued, are those the old GT's w/ the tub chassis?
And will Associated offer the Team as a pre built? That link shows 2 GT's that are prebuilt and are labeled as On Order?

That was my mistake. At the time of the Shootout, we hadn't received any word of a TEAM kit, only the Factory Team and the RTR. I later discovered that Associated snuck the Team kit under the radar. So, there is in fact a team kit.

Oh ok. Thanks for the reply. Do you have any info on the Team Pre-builts?

Acutally - the Team Pre-Built GT is going to be the first one out. It's going to the exactly the same as the AE kits. Unlike the current RTR, it will have all the EXACT same materials and parts that are found on the kits (except for the rear driveshafts possibly). This will be a good "jumping off" point for anyone that wants to go racing.

The Team Built truck will have dogbones instead of universals, and blue-anodized shocks instead of hard-anodized.

Thanks for the replies. So the Pre-Builts won't be using the smaller RTR chassis?
Will the Pre-Builts come with the Associated/Thunder Tiger .15 with the 90 degree timing and ball bearings?
Good to see ya posting PeterV.

It's my understanding that the Team Pre-Builts won't include an engine and radio gear. That's why they're making this next step - for the people that want their choice of engine and radio gear in a full-blown competition vehicle.

Dang! Thats exactly what I was looking for when I started out. But I'm glad I built mine now. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot from it two.

This is the word from Associated: Team Pre-builts will use the Team chassis, will have dogbones, ball bearings, no engine and radio of course.
The difference between the RTR chassis and Team/FTGT chassis is that the FTGT/Team chassis is 1/4 in. longer and a bit thinner than the RTR chassis. So that makes the RTR chassis 1/4 in. shorter than the Team/FTGT but it is a bit thicker.
