hey guys got this hpi 69 charger and i am going to make a replica of the General Lee. Does anyone have suggestions on how or where to get the decals like the flag and the 01 and stuff.

I did my own replica with a mini shell, heres my tip.

Download a picture of the confederate flag and the 01.
Photoshop it till its the right size.

Print it out on good quality photo paper

tricky bit, peel the top layer of the photo paper off, then trim round fleg.

Stick to inside of shell with lexan or any PVA glue. will post a pic in a mo.

Thanks alun for the tip. i think ill use it but were can i get photo paper?

don't do it that way...that's cheating.


Do download the pics and adjust the size and stuff. But then print them out (in mirrorred format) and then tape them to the outside of the body. Then you can cut it out from the inside using LMF. That's how I do all of my lettering, images, graphics, etc.

USE PAINT! :D

It may be 'cheating' but IMO using an internal decal whether it be a premade one, or a one youve done yourself looks 100 times better than a messed up airbrush job.
After spending so much on a shell, paint etc, I would prefer to get something that Im happy with and looks good.

We arnt all airbrush masters...

Oh, legend car, any good computer shop will sell you inkjet photo paper.

its not cheating. im gonna go with alums way as soon as i resize in photoshop plus i dont even have an airbrush

I was just at my LHS and they had a decal sheet of a rebel flag. I dont know who makes it but you can find it on Towerhobbies im sure. I just did a search myself and found this...
