i dont understand what a futaba J connector is and why its different from a z connector please help

If my memory serves me, a Futaba J-connector and an Airtronics Z-connector are the same. Can't be sure, but I think Airtronics made the switch years ago to be more compatible with other similar types of servo plugs. I believe they are the blue connectors currently used on newer Airtronics/Sanwa servos.

The pinout on the Airtronics Z is the same as the Futaba J (as well as Hitec and JR). However, the Futaba plugs have a little nib of plastic on the end to insure that it is plugged in right. An Airtronics Z plug will fit into a Futaba receiver, but in order for a Futaba plug to fit in an Airtronics Z receiver, you have to remove the nib.
