Hey all, just wonder what is the best 1500mah (or under) stick pack battery?
the Trinity 1400SCR? or what??

and very important thing is.. any website selling these and will ship international? I notice towerhobbies sell the trinity one but they don't have it in stock.

The best one will be the one that uses name-brand cells, like Sanyo. But, why are you looking for these old batteries?

I like these but there pretty old. Always charged to around 1700mah. A newer pack would be a big upgrade though.

i do have a few GP3300 packs already. The reason why i need the 1500 battery pack is that our local rules only allow 1500 stick pack for the classes that use a silver can 540 motor. I have 2 almost brand new Tamiya 1400mah Racing Pack already. Which last long enough but i want a bit more punch.

I heard the Sanyo 1400SCR is good but i can't find anyone selling it.

So anyone knows whether the Sanyo 1400SCR is better than the Panasonic 1400SCR?

JonBoy: yeah i saw those as well. but they are just the normal 1500 cells right? So i guess they'll be almost the same as my Tamiya 1400 except a bit longer running time?

Well, as it was with 3000's I'd go with the Sanyo, Panasonics tend to be more picky and die faster.

industrial strength baby! lol

You could run pirhanas in a pinch if you really had to. Check out the duratrax sanyo 1500s. they would probably work well

There are many NiMH packs for the same price or a few bucks higher that you'll be much happier with. Technology has blessed us with more durable packs with more voltage and runtime ;)

The Sanyo 1200's and 1400's SCR, SCRC, etc for RC use must have been over 10 years old! Any pack of such cells intended for RC would be ancient and pretty much dead. I think sanyo still makes the yellow jacket cells. They are not going to give you better performance than your average stick pack of 1500mah nicads and such. Buy some trinity spec packs. Those are good cells that can take a beating. What does give more performance is if you had cells matched! Is there a rule against this?

You got to ask yourself, how badly do you need to win? And what do you need to do to get the win? Whats the fastest guy using for batteries? If matching is not against the rules, do this. Buy 4 stick packs(or as many as you can afford thats worth while) that are built with sanyo cells like trinity spec and take them apart and get them matched. Group the cells to suit the type of racing ie; do you want more top end, more punch, or more runtime, etc. Then label the packs 1, 2, 3, 4. No, these are not going to be as good as real matched packs where everything is almost exactly the same, but this method will give you a little more umph!

Thanks TEM, that's a very good post.

unfortunately matched cell is not allowed so i have to go with the normal stick pack.
How badly i want to win? hm.. not that bad. And to be honest i don't mind i never win as it's just a hobby to me. But then i've spent over $1000 on my RC (including charger and other stuff) so i don't mind getting some better batteries if they are only like $20-30 a pack which i'll only use for racing. At least, i know it's just my driving and i can't blame it on my battery :D

I would get some trinity packs but TowerHobbies don't have them in stock and i don't want to wait (consider it'll already take almost three weeks to receive the items even if they have everything in stock and i choose fast shipping) so i want to find somewhere else i can order them.

viper2002: i know the nimh batteries are better price/performace wise. but our rules only allow 1500mah batteries

Thats Odd because when things are in stock and I choose Normal shipping it arrives in like 4 days.

maybe because you are from US and i'm not?
it normally takes them 1 week to just process my order and i always just order things they have in stock..
then 2 more weeks for shipping.

When i order things from some other oversea websites, only takes like 3-4 days to arrive (from placing the order -> appear on my door)
