I have a RTR T4 with the Power 15t motor. I need some maintenance tips because I am new to this scene. What replacement brushes do I need to use, I would like the ones with the eyelet on them. If available send a link to towerhobbies so I can see what I need. What about cleaning the comm or whatever it is. All help is welcome. Thanks A BUNCH!!!

tacoma,
I don't know what brushes that motor would take, but if this is the stock 15T motor that comes in the T4 SE, I wouldn't even bother to maintain it. It's not a good motor. I have one and it's very weak for a 15T. I also don't think they are very good quality. It also has bushings, instead of bearings. It's really not a motor worth maintaining. To me, it's a throw-away motor. (A recent magazine review on the T4 SE stated that the power of that motor was really more similar to a 19T modified.)
May I suggest an alternative? If it were me (and I did this myself), I would get a better motor for your T4. I bought a Trinity SpeedGem 15T (Acornite?) for mine. It's more powerful, has bearings and will last longer. I think even a good 19T, like the Reedy Quad Spec or the Cameleon 2 would be better than that stock 15T.
Just my advice.

acornite isa 19t=faster than your 15,about the same as a stock motor like a p2k2.titanite is the 15t.ive had them all....amber17x2,chromium16x2,titanite15x2.the 16x2 is the better of the 3.i now run a speed gem extreme 17x2 which is even better then the 16

Yeah, I saw that after I posted. My SpeedGem 15T is the Titanite.

I think I will go with the Trinity Speedgem 15x2 extreme. What about it?http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJGX0&P=7

hope you got some realygood batteries then.at least rc1700's.that motor is gonna run you pretty hot after 10 mins.you need to drop one more tooth on the pinion gear then from what you are running now with the stock 15t you have.
and youd need to convert to deans or powerpoles due to the large amp draw this motor puts out.go with the 17t extreme.you wont be dissapointed, dont look as it being slower because of there 2 turn loss.these motors are waymore powerful than you think and what you have now dosent even justify a real 15t.

oh well by all means go for the 15 then.but realize it will require more maintinence, com clean, brush change after about 18 runs youll notice decrease in performance, and its a cooker.also buy some powerpoles or deans connections.a 15 like this is on the very edge of of where stock tamiya connection melt together.

The more powerful the motor the more maintance , If your gonna just bash then a 17T from Trinity SG would work out , When the brushes wear out replace with some silver ones they last longer , little harder on the comm but woth the performance. What ESC are you using if stock I wouldnt go any lower then a 17turn . RED

I have a LRP AI super reverse ESC. It says it can handle down to 13T motor.
