Could anybody please tell me what the difference between these two things are?

Use the sub-trim to center your servo(s) before installing the linkage. It is a more sensitive adjustment.

The other is a finer trim used to center the wheels of your car. If you drive it and it seems to want to turn right or left as it goes straight, use this to correct the wheels so they point dead ahead.
