I have a T4 RTR with a Power 15 motor. I am thinking of replacing it with a Reedy Spec 19. Will this be a faster motor and what pinion gear do I need to get? I'm a newbie!!!! :D

YEs i believe that it would be faster. Im not sure how much but in the latest rcca they reviewed the rtr t4 with the stock 15t and a p2k2 and it was faster with the p2k2 and its a 27t motor.

I replaced the 15T with a P2K2 and I'm very happy with it.. very torquey motor.

yes i have also been running around a 17t to 19t the past few years and got a p2k2 in a trade so i put it in a truck and was suprised just how fast it was.

What about the Trinity 17t speedgem, would it be better than the spec19 or p2k2?

I would not say better, the motor you picked in fine. I like the speed gem extreem's but your motor choice is fine if thats what you want. Id just get the p2k2 if you ever plan on racing so you can race in the stock class.

I was looking at Tower and is it the "p2k2" or the "Pro p2k2"?

I think the Pro version is dyno'd, tested and labeled. Not sure about the non-pro.

yeah its not much of a difference the pro might be dyno'd and tuned a little.

Sorry to jack your thread, but I have a similar question. I have a T3, had the RTR motor in it, but replaced it with a Monsters of Touring 13x2, it doesn't seem like it was much of an upgrade, so I want to go with something different. I have an mTroniks Tempo (11, but older model, before 15 came out) so I can run just about any motor, but I'm on a budget, so no more than $30-40 for the motor. This one will be used for bashing because I have an LRP Quantum Comp 2 and a P-94 9t for racing. It needs to be a torquey motor because I am using Dirt Hawgs all around, and I like to be able to jump over everything (like roots and stuff similar to that).

I use a 13 turn D6 for mod racing in my T4 right with the comp 2, but use a nice machine wound 15 or 16 turn single or double, that seems to be a good choice for bashing in the T4 or T3 lots of torque, careful on your gearing with those heavy tires.speed gem's extremes are nice.

15/16's seem a little too lows of a turn for those big meats. I plan to gear WAY low with those meats, probably 15/87 gearing. I might look for a budget 16x1 though, unless I would be happier with a P2K Pro or some other stock motor.

Speed Gems Amber (17x2) is a nice motor, I just installed one in a buddy of mine's Rustler and it screams.
