Guys, this is the last showing of my M3 before I say goodbye to it. These are shots taken after I was forced to run the car. Unfortantly, I didn't take any shots of the car before I ran it, so these shots show the windows after they were drilled out, not to mention a little bit of damage from the one time that I ran it. These shots are however clearning then those that I scanned in the last time I posted this car.

Awesome. Love the detail. I just hope the driver wears his helmet while he's "driving" :p

I used styrene tubbing for the roll bar. You can get it in different sizes.

Silent Scope - As for being forced to drive it, well that's a little bit of an exaggeration. I entered the car into a concours competition and won. The rules of that competition like many others I have entered stated that you must run the car in one race after winning. Since I race nitro, I had to cut a couple of holes in the windows and I tried my best to avoid any traffic on the track. Needless to say, I came in last place for that heat, but I managed to do a good job with saving the body from any major damage. Car survived with a couple of minor scratches

Thats a really stupid rule.. I mean.. they know your in the show competition and they make you race it..? Pretty stupid if you ask me..

I use to feel the same way, but then I thought there are two options. Don't enter the competition and keep the car, or enter and try to win, and if you do win, you get a decent prize. So it's not such a bad deal. Heck, if your careful, you should be able to get through one heat with minimal damage. In most cases, I end up putting these bodies on ebay, win or lose. You just have to be careful in that one 5 min race if you plan on selling it afterwards.

That is absolutely beautiful! The car didn't sustain any real damage that I can see. Congrats on the win.

Thanks daddieof3. As for the paint, I airbrush all my stuff, and I have always used Pactra Paints. There are two kinds of Tamiya two piece rims. One set comes with a chrome outter with a white insert, while the other set comes white on white. The set that I used were the chrome outter with the white insert. I have painted two sets and both times, I used a color that I was using on the car. I can tell you that in many cases, it comes out a little softer than you expect at first. Both times I had to add different colors to my base to get a harder tint. Just know that is your using a lighter color, it's easier to go darker if it's too light for you. If your going black, just make sure your not too close when you paint, otherwise it will run.

No problem, I don't mind answering questions. Believe it or not, I didn't, but I think it really depends on what typr of paint your going to use. If your using something that is water based, I'm not sure how it will turn out. Unsing the enamel from pactra, I was successful both times I have painted the rims.

That is just the Parma inner body kit. You can get it from towerhobbies.com.
I did modify it a bit by taking the head off of a 3.00 action figure and using it in place of the helmet that comes with the inner body.

NitroBoy24, thanks for the compliment.

Awesome job. I'm trying to do the same kind of detailing on a Rally Subaru. The roll cage and in particular the interior dashboard and so on. How do I do this?

cabrio3, I will send you a pm as turning a rally Subaru has been a project that I have enjoyed in the past.
