cooling problem

I got the traxxas cooling kit for my villain IV....and now there is a problem, on the cover there is a part that dips down bhind where the seats are. and those are in the way of the coils when i close the lid so it doesnt close all the way. What should i do? cut them out and fix it?
has this happened to anyone else?

alright well i fixed it...what i did was cut the WHoLE top of the deck out, and replace where the chairs/steering wheel/and depressions where and put a with a piece of flexible plastic...it looks really sleek and smooth
