How do they operate? What are the age groups? Is there, in the younger age groups, power groups? What are the categories? I know electric is seperate from nitro. And scales of vehicles too.

Generally you get separation by vehicle type. For instance, at my track we run 2wd (1/10 stadium trucks) 4wd (all monster trucks) and if we have enough trucks for more than one heat in each class, we try to break it down by driver skill to make it more challenging/fun for everyone. At larger events, we'll break monster trucks into big block, small block, and unlimited (truggy).
