Looks like they are moving the motor to one side along with the speed control, RX, and steering servo, and putting the batteries on the opposite side ala TRF-415.

Talking to people who have been running the car at snowbirds right now, its already as fast, if not faster than the old car (pretty impressive considering that the US drivers with the car got it right before the race, and didnt have time to run it previous to showing up in florida)

It does look like a better design. I milled 2mm on the rear bulkheads on my FK just so the spur and motor can sit lower, so having the spur and motor in-line with each other is a great idea.
XRAY has been really active lately, they're really pushing themselves into the industry.

Interesting. I wonder how this would compare to a 415?

Where you guys getting the idea of lookin like a 415? im looking at the pics and its nowhere close to one.
I'm just saying in overall layout it's similar to the 415 and the Corally.

Ya i saw it now in the other thread, thanks... all i was seeing was the older FK... i dont think T1FK05 is the proper name for it... shoulda been T2FK at least... then again it sounds terminatorish lol
Believe it or not this car is the evolution of the first XRay T1. Some of the parts on this car will fit the original T1 that came out back in '01 and some of the parts from that car will fit this one. There are almost no common parts between the original T1 and the last version, the T1FK'04, as it is starting to be called (the last version of the car with the saddle-pack chassis). Even so, the shock towers, suspension mounting points, bulkhead mounting holes, etc, are the same so that someone can upgrade an original T1 to Factory Kit '04 specs if they wanted to. This new car, the T1FK'05 will depart from this scheme because too many parts are different and the motor mounting is completely different.

all this talk on how the car looks like the 415. the 415 is a COPY of some earlier YOKOMO cars, if you wanna get technical about it. this x-ray is BRAND NEW! and it's bad-a$$. so stop saying "what it looks like" and drive one! then post on here what THAT's like. i've had x-rays before. the quality is next to none. got myself a pro4 for christmas and i HATE it! after this car's release...i'll have x-ray again.

The cost will probably be around a 20-40% increase due to the crappyness of the dollar in comparison to the euro as well as the demand being higher so they have every right to charge a bit more. So expect a street price of somewhere around mid to high $300's.
I don't think they've finalized what is coming in the box, yet. I think the release date is slated for April but I have not heard anything official, yet.
X-Ray is really making some nice stuff.
Now if they could make a 4wd E-Buggy :)
