And If you did, you saw what I did with it...

So now I need help with ideas.
-I gots no airbrush, so it's rattles all the way for me.
-I STILL haven't tried LM but I'm STILL lazy to try so it's tapes, tapes and tapes.
-I'm looking for a street look. nothing over the top. I'm so tempted to do it yellow again...
any ideas would be appreciated. This one is going to be more on the details. Even more than what I did before; so much more that I'm afraid I might not be able to fit it all in there.

Try layering colors. Such as a candy red over gold. One of my favorite paint jobs was for a customer. I used chamelion purple on the top, chamelion gold on the bottom and backed that with pearlized copper backed with silver. The finoshed product was nothing like any of the individual colors (Search here for djm914-6 jummy buffett bodies) I called it Conch Shell. A similar style can easily be done with rattle cans and give a nice kustom street/ show look.

...kinda thinkin' in WRC mode... needs a lot of decals to make this look like the real deal, but you get the idea.
thanks for the input guys. In response to Legend_Car, I make the templates with Photoshop. They're not great, but they give me a visual on what I'm working on.
As for the Lancer, I've got some crazy ideas that I've been thinking about during the winter. I'll probably go along the lines of simple striping. Most likely, It might be a one/two tone job cause the body mods will be extensive. Gotta pick up my bodies tomorrow and see if my ideas are even possible first... I've been chopping some of my old bodies to see if my ideas work and so far so good....

Why did you trash that body?
Why did you trash that body?
Ahhh. since the old post is gone now, I guess I'd have to explain it. Basically, last summer, I painted that Evo because I wanted to see how the Carbon Fibre non-slip mat trick worked. Then it sort of ballooned from there adding little details like the rollcage, meshings, lights, plates etc... And after that, it just sat on my shelf... But something in me always wants my bang for my buck so I had to drive the body. So at a picnic, I brought it, rallied up my RS43 and tore into the dirt. Things started falling off and so I decided to just throw it away.
Bodies don't seem like a really big investment. When you get down to it, a few bucks and a few hours of work still means nothing if you can't have fun with it. When I first got into R/C, I splurged on upgrading my car for speed but then later started splurging on bodies. After 2 years and 12-15 bodies, I decided to slow down and only do one if I really see it necessary. No more one tones, no more bodies collecting dust, buy 'em to drive 'em.
This summer, I want to see my limits in my imagination towards detail. I've had little ideas floating around in my head and the only real way to stop them is to find out if they can be done or not. I guess you could say I'll be pulling out all stops on this one.
Truth be told, I just might fudge up the body so bad than it looks like it was taken to a chop shop. But then again, how will I ever know if my idea works?

Hey Kuya, post a coupla "before" pix of the Evo.
Hey, there's nothing wrong with doing up a concours body and *not* running it... just putting it on your car for display when it's sitting on the shelf... and doing basic bodies for racing with.

How's it comin' Kuya?
My bodies just came in yesterday, I still have to go pick them up. So far, I've already started on the little things. Practicing some "window magic" on some of my old bodies to see if my idea works. so far so cool.... Prolly going to rip the side view mirrors and wipers off my beat up yoke drifter. Made a rear view mirror, right now, working on a sort of interior ("SORT OF") and just finished a little something something; I don't want to give it all away just yet. Now I hope it'll fit on my nitro or at least elec. I don't want to remove parts off the chassis just for the body to fit. :D Work has been slowing me down, and the fact that I don't even have the bodies yet is what is slowing me down.. Still haven't picked out what I going to paint it. Might try for a burnt orange color with some neon green accents or I might go Pearlescent. There's this cool stripe design I saw on a Hot Wheels car that I might try... I'm so undecided on it.
