Dont qoute me on this But I read in another site a guy was cleaning his RC with break cleaner.
and it stripped the color off the chassie....
I personally would get some nice fine wet/dry Paper 800-1200grt
drop the chassie in a bucket of water and rub away...
Iv'e got some good finishes from this...
Happy Sanding....;)

Oven Cleaner works every time. The stuff in the yellow can. Do forget to wear gloves.

RCCA did an article on this a few years ago. They used oven cleaner if I am not mistaken.

Yeah, 'Easy-Off' is the best for that, although it's probably more expensive than the generic type. They've got the 'no fumes' version of it on the market now, so that's the best bet, as oven cleaner fumes are NASTY!!!

Ok if i use "Easy Off" and remove the color out of the part then can I paint the part a different color? Can i use the same paint as for the Body? My friend owns a good air brush, what paint should i use? How can i change the color, thanks.

Yeah, you can paint it another color. Just make sure to rinse off all the oven cleaner after the part is stripped before you do anything else. I guess you can use the paint that you paint the body with, but you're gonna have to put some kind of clearcoat on it because lexan paint dries to a dull color. Clean it, prime it with a good primer, and then spray whatever paint you want.

To paint aluminium you need a very expensive and very toxic primer or the paint wont stick.
One you remove the anodizing you also remove the strengthening and the antioxidizing properties of the surface.

1 simply question ,
when you have a part anodized all it is is like electro-plating infact you can do your anodizing at home with a few 9v batteries and colored lye ,but the question is this ,
how can it take more or less the temper out of alumionum just by removing the colored coating fro ma part?
just wanna know and please explain if you can please
thank you
