supply and demand???

Is it just me or does it seem like most major r/c on-line hobby shops seem to be out of stock or on order alot? Is it that the supplier can't keep up with demand or is it the retailer not ordering proper qty's? I live in Canada and in my aera we dont have any good local hobby shops so I have to mail order my replacement parts. Kinda get's on your nervs. Oh ya has anybody ever ordered a kit mail order (having it shiped to canada)? What did you pay in duty? just a question.
