does anyone out there have this ESC? i got it in a new TT-01 kit, and i was wondering if I could safely use a Reedy Quad Mag 19T or other decent 19T...if not, i'll stick w/ a Trinity Monster Stock or P2K2 Pro stocker :(

Thats a risky thing to do... 19t is a mild stock close to mod... basically made to handle 27t stockers...

Hmmm...so you're saying things might blow up/melt. how much difference in speed do you think i'd notice w/ a 'pro-stock' style 27t vs a 19t QM? With either motor i'd be gearing the car up slightly. i'm not planning on organized racing--just looking for some cheap, reliable acceleration/speed!

Im sure you'll see a noticable speed increase with a 19t... but im not crazy bout the QM... i had the Epic QM and didnt really see a difference between that and the Monster/P2K2 Pros... so i stuck with the P2K2 pro...

Man, stock motors these days must really kick hind! 27t comparable to 19t??!i'm recently re-entering r/c...when i left i had a reedy tuned stock and a race prep tuned stock and they both were worlds away from a decent 21t wind.
What's the main difference between the p2k2 pro and monster stock? which would be better for a tt-01, which one better for an evader? (my 9yr old's rides...im a decent pops, eh? :))

From what i know, the p2k2 is best for short tracks and the monster is best for large tracks ;)

Hmmm...interesting. I read a decent report on the i'net where someone tested a handful of the top stock mtrs...team orion core, monst stk, p2k2, reedy mvp etc. The conclusion was the monster stock was best overall (20 simulated runs i believe, no rest period). i wanted to hear from actual users though, so i thank-you for your feedback.
for now, i'll equate 'tight tracks' = backyard and 'large tracks' = parking lot :)
as he becomes a better driver i'll see if he wants to race. we've got some great tracks out here in socal. we've got RCX in anaheim too coming up! :)

I sold a friend of mine a associatied 19t motor (the one that comes with the TC3 RTR) and it smoked up and glitched like #%!@ in his TT-01 that had the same reciever/ESC combo unit. Folks seemd to think it shouldnt have been a probelm but it was and the motor is ok cuz I ran it in my TC3 afterward w/o issues. look at this thread it was ~ 2 weeks ago
Assoc 19T in tt-01 (http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/showthread.php?t=187503)

Don`t Use Any Motor Faster Than 23-Turns with that Tamiya ESC!
You will BLOW IT UP!
I Hope you didn`t try it yet.
-I did something like that and it Blew - Up.
Take Care.

Think i'd be safe running one of those Tamiya RZ or TZ 'super-stock' 23T motors? Would these even be faster than a hot 27T, 24-degree stocker? On only 6C, mind you...if not, I guess I'd stick w/ a Trinity Monster or P2K2 pro....anyone's thoughts??
