more pics too come, simmer down now, I know you can't wait, maybe even some action shots, I just made an awsome little handle for the gas tank, blue zip tie with light blue fuel tubing over it, I polished the AE pipe to a mirror shine, like the head, I am going to buy a lot of upgrades real soon If I don't get rid of it.

Ranch - entirely too many pictures - I'll leave one of them up. We can't have 8 or so pics of your truck taking up all the bandwidth whenever someone tries to view this thread.

BTW - It's fun to think our cars go really fast, but the fact is this truck would do very well if it hit 40.

Hey Ranchdreson, I beat you-- my FTGT has been up to 145 MPH! =) However, it was in the trunk of my '69 Chevelle at the time (I was in a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig hurry to get to the track, lol. Actually I was just testing the full throttle shift valve in my new 700r4 tranny and it just happened to be along for the ride...)

So how fast does the truck really go? I don't think 80m.p.h. What king of engine is that in there?

Lighten up guys maybe his truck really can go 80 mph (yeah, if he drops it from a tall building hehe)! But seriously he's probably just new to nitro and excited about how much faster nitro's are than electrics. Plus those fumes can mess with your head. What did you use to determine the speed of your truck. Get a reliable stop watch and measure out a known distance. Get your truck up to full speed and start the watch at one end and stop it at the other. This should provide a more accurate reading.

LOL,not quite a newbie, lol, I've never had an electric though I'm thinking about one. that's a ported trx .15 with pro carb, but regular head. The nitro fumes do get to me sometimes. I had one of those police radar guns. Yeah it goes 80, ok maybe 65, but if I went more than half throttle and ran it hotter than 150 degrees F, it would go 80. steve's seen it..... remember...... that one day at the track........ http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

my electric rustler goes about an estimated 35-40. i have a novak fusion esc, trinity 2400 matched pack, and full ball bearings, with cvds (they broke so mow im back to my stockers) and a trinity speed gems 2 garnet 13 turn duble with a d3.5 arm for more torque http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif its totally sweet. i need to get a new steering servo cuz the stock one sux. and those speeds it take like 20 feet to turn.

LMAO, see his ELECTRIC rustler goes 30-40, and everyone knows nitro's go twice as fast. I could get some video if anyone has one they'd like to give me.

sorry, but just because it is gas powered does not mean that it is 2X as fast as electric, with new batteries and motors coming out, these things are as fast as ever, so, just put down the quack pipe

Ranchdreson I guess you are a newbie. You say nitro goes twice as fast as electric lol. I've never seen your N. Sport but I bet it doesn't do 65. My electric Rustler has a Speed gem 2 Garnet 13T double and it does about a little over 30. It depends on the car. Some electrics are faster than some nitros. You probably haven't seen many electrics. Nitro gives you the impression that it is going faster than it really is because the engine is loud. You don't get that same impression as a electric coasts by.
What kind of satisfaction do you get coming on to a BB telling lies.

xxxer your right, my xxx can reach 50+ mph. and i doubt your nitro sport goes any faster.

LMAO!!!!!! I race it with the touring cars, too easy, nitro and electric, I'm finished before any of them are even half way done...... well not quite, but I woop em, Ok you don't beleive, WHATEVER, alright, uh, yeah, ok. you guys are just jealous, nitro's give me the feeling of torque and electrics give me that speed feeling. ELECTRIC STINKS, lol. what's this goo? I have a 66 tooth clutch bell and a 20 tooth spur, now who's fast.... huh huh

other kind guy:

hey guys lay off maybe his sport does go 80.

I hate to burst your bubble but I'll let the math do the talking. You can calculate your theoretical top speed with the following simple formula. Keep in mind this doesn't take into account drag or any other loss factors.

Speed, in Miles Per Hour, as a function of engine RPM, tire diameter, transmission ratio, and spur/clutch gearing:
[(((tire diameter/12)*3.14159)*((engine rpm/(transmission ratio*(spur/clutchbell)))*60]/5280

Assuming your engine winds to 31,000 rpm (a more than reasonable assumption under the load and drag of a stadium truck) and that standard stadium truck tire diameter is 4", and the final drive ratio of the nitro sport tranny is 2.80:1, and you're running a 20/66 clutch/spur combo, plug those numbers into the formula to get your top speed in MPH, which comes out to be 43.91 miles per hour.

[{(5/12)*3.14.....***(20,000*(2.80/(20/66)***60)]/5280=2749 mph

somethings wrong with that formula, It's not me I promise, my TI 89 wouldn't lie to me, I run masher 2000's which have a diameter of 5", and can gear it that way. I'm missing some perenthesses, LOL, is that even close to spelt right? but still I didn't when I was solving the formula.

This is the most messed up bb tread I have ever herd. What the hell is up with the math problems,You guys a freaking me out dude stop it.

Gokou

Here is your problem:

You did:
(2.80/(20/66))

It actually is:
(2.80*(66/20))

With the Masher 2000's you're looking at 48.29 MPH @ 30,000 rpm =) While it isn't 80, that certainly isn't slow!

no, no I'm right. 20 tooth spur and 66 tooth clutch bell, oh ya want pics huh, well the camera has left me, Higher mounts and mounted a spur to the clutch bell and put a clutch bell on my little shaft that the spur was on, muwhahahaha insane speed, kinda have to push it to get it going, maybe I need a .21. there was a little brace in the way too. hmmm am I going a lot slower than I could? 2,749 hmmmm maybe full throttle next time. NOW WHOS THE MAN, yeah that's what I though, lol

LMAO, I'm imagining my sport go 2,700 mph... breaking the sound bearier, boom, lol, I see it now in those flats in nevada, arizona, utah..... breaking the world land speed record, lol, zoom, my tires start to melt.... molten rubber flung every where, then it hits a rock and flies in the air(hmmm I think I've seen this happen befor, lol) the truck comes crashing back to earth, and lands on all fours, and goes 1,000,000 mph, muhahahaha, muhahahaha, lol ok someones acting a little retarded, lol
