Both have their benefits and drawbacks. With 75mhz there are many more channels to choose from, I think 40 or so. With 27mhz there are only 6 channels. The benefit of 27mhz is that there is a larger gap in frequencies between the channels. Twice as much as with 75mhz. Occasionally with 75mhz, drivers may experience channel overlap if someone else is running the next higher or lower channel, causing glitch problems. This doesn't happen with 27mhz.
Somebody else might be able to explain this better, but those are the differences as I understand them.

Terry, get the 75, you can use the 27 for planes or cars but the 75 is more normal. Not many people use 27 but if you do get that and you want a brand new 27mhz reciever that is 3 channel email me. It is the tekin micro and works with JR, Futaba, and MANY more. yoyoyosexy@aol.com is my email address.
However I WOULD GET THE 75mhz

first of all 27 can not be yused in airplanes because it is a ground frequency.planes ad helicopters are 72mhz. Any ways go with 27 less people use it and it is less likely to glitch

First of all i would go with 75Mhz because 27Mhz is too close to the citizens band (CB), if some one in your area is ussing a high powered cb antenna than you will oose controll.

27 is a general frequency. It can be used for everything. I mean everything - including those $25 Tyco, Radio Shack, and Nikko cars, not to mention planes, cars, helis, boats. So if some little kid turns his car on he could send yours out of control.
27 also doesn't send out as strong as a signal as does 75. You need a strong signal because you are closer to the ground with the cars and gravity will effect your range.

I recommend that whatever frequency you choose try to go FM. It's my opinion that it works much better because it doesn't have as many glitches. You're range will be better too.

i would still go with the 75. the problem with 27 is that all the traxxas stuff comes with 27 and there are very few channels
