On my TC3 the steering rack doesnt move all the way to one side (when I turn the wheel left) but is fine in the other direction, did I do something wrong? http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/confused.gif
nope, but try loosening the left side plastic nut a little.

that happened to me but they told me to shave the back side of the hub where it touches the stering block ok. but only shave it enough so its even with the othere u now so when its turned outward if you look from the top of the car the steering block should be horizontal like the right side

from what I can tell, it seems like it would be better to be stopped by the steering knuckles than to be stopped by the rack... the rack is not NEAR as strong as the knuckles... mine does the same thing but i'm leaving it alone as I don't want to put undue stress on the rack bearings...

I was thinking of buying an aluminum rack
You dont need it at all. The only reason to get it is if you dont race and want to look cool. That piece doesnt break. If you go aluminum, it adds weight and slows steering. Dont get it unless you dont race.

STOP!! Don't shave the blocks or anything! I wondered about this myself on the TC3, so I checked out AE's website, they address this situation. The car is built this way intentionaly because the rotatation of the drive shaft causes the car to veer to one side a tiny bit. A lot like the propeller of an airplane causes the plane to spin a little so the rudder needs to counteract the rotation. Check out the website if you have any other questions about the TC3.
