beautiful...also I've a lathe, i use it to modify the crankshaft, but my lathe is more big (3 meters long)....however with it lathe you can make all things :)

Maxxcrazy: Nice toy! Looks like you've already started to break her in! Making custom parts is what pushing the boundaries of this sport/hobby is all about.

ExtremeMT: Just a word of caution. A wood lathe is far from capable of turning metal, especially with a hand jig. It WILL bite back if you try. I suppose you COULD modify one to turn metal, but the tolerances of the collet are slacker than that of a metal lathe which I would imagine to produce undesirable results.

Well, if you knew that, just disregard my cautionary tale and move on with this so-called foreign material you call "wood."

I'm not sure where it came from, it was a gift. You can buy them at www.thesherlineshop.com

I believe the lathe cost about $760. Its a Sherline 4400A if you want to look it up.

I got the vertical milling column and vise today. Heres some pics of it as a mill. My fly cutter and endmill holder along with a few endmills are in the mail.
