I am a complete n00b in painting and have no access to airbrush equipment - just ordinary spray cans.
How would I be able to paint the black thin door lines for my car's body?

A Sharpie brand felt tip pen - in dark grey or black.

I've thought about the sharpie thing but here's the problem with it...
Ideally, you'd want the marker on the inside of the body and then paint over it. With all the bodies I've seen, the door, hood, etc. lines are dimpled in, not out. That would make it hard to draw on the raised edge on the inside of the body and have a straight line.
Drawing on the outside of the body would be easiy because the groove would guide the marker...but it can get scratched off.
Another solution might be to use pin stripe tape as a mask on the inside of the body for all the lines.

ok i see what you mean by iitd be hard to draw on that ridge. and ive run into that problem before on other things. easy solution-use the SIDE of the marker so that it wont fall off! i hope that helps ya

My best luck for a crisp black line that is the most difficult to remove (compared to Sharpie, Parma etc.) is the Panel Line Pen from Top Flight (made for detailing r/c planes). I found out the hard way because I sketched my design with it and the specific top did not have a protective plastic layer on the outside...even with rubbing alcohol it took a while to remove. Once you get it going it makes a nice opaque black line...so you don't have to go over the same place twice. Best black detail pen I have ever used.

You can try pin stripe tape on the inside or outside of the body. If your hobby shop doesn't carry it, try an auto parts store.

If you place it on the inside of the body, can you see the adhesive?
