Does anyone had experience with this radio?
I want to know more about the FM/AM mode it has. Can you just change to AM mode without doing any modifications and use your AM recieviers (ANY BRAND)?

Go check out the Profi Car Website -->here<--. You always use the same Multiplex Rx crystals whether you're using AM or FM. All you need to do is match the number (AM or FM) in your reciever and make sure you set the radio to transmit the right way (tell it AM or FM). It couldn't be much easier. BTW, my 403 is on its way. FYI, the 403 should be more than enough, unless you really need 7 channels. The 403 hasmore than enough features for me...

403 has what 5 channels total? 707 has 7 GEEZE!. Unless your running a plain CAR via radio controll i don't think you will need a 707..

I totally agree. As I said above, "The 403 has more than enough features for me..."

Another great benefit of these radios is that they are designed to work with a six cell Nicd (rechargeable) battery pack. This makes them much lighter and easy to work with, compared to similar-featured computer radios, which are all bigger and bulkier and use 8 batteries. The Futaba 3pj is the least of the bulky ones, but it still uses 8 batteries and won't do FM and AM.

Hey Nairb what is the difference between "GP racing set" and "TX only" ?

I got mine today!! It rocks!! The "Tx only" is what I got. I got the radio, the battery pack, the charging jack, and one Tx crystal. This "Tx only" pack comes with the bare necessities to enable you to use the radio with other stuff (reciever, servos, etc) that you already have. The "GP Racing Set" comes with all the stuff you need (and more) to set up a car when you don't already have anything. Both come with the same radio, it's just the included accessories that differ. Look on the page and you'll see...
We'll just have to see how this baby does tomorrow. I've already got two buddies dying to test it out with my bad-A XXXT. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif All I can say is, "ME FIRST!!" http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Yeah, baby, it DOES rock!! Everybody, I mean EVERYBODY I showed it to loved it and wanted to buy one. Hmm, did I start a trend at my track...?
I bought mine at www.multiplexrc.com (http://www.multiplexrc.com)
I don't see why you'd want to get it anywhere else anyway. Just get it there. My Tx with crystal, battery, and charge jack was only $160. That's not bad...

Nairb, you sold me! I was in the market for a new transmitter. I was looking at Hitec/RCD Lynx 3D, and the Futaba 3PDF3, but I think now after info from you and the site, I'll order a Mutiplex Profi Car 403 next month. Thanks http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I just finished setting mine up and it rocks!! Once you learn what does what, it's very easy to use. I can't wait until I use it on the track. I'm absolutely sure it will help me go faster because of a few things I have control over now that I didn't have before. This radio is awesome!
