Hi,
I just received an almost new RC18T I bought on this forum. Admittedly I am an 1/8 scale buggy guy so bare with me I an electric illiterate. Anyway, when you are either going forward or not moving at all and you move the trigger on the transmitter to the reverse position it takes about 2 seconds before the car starts moving in reverse, is this how it is supposed to work? I expected it to immediately reverse the motor. When going in reverse or not moving and you move the trigger in the forward position the car moves immediately. I do happen to have an electric Stampede and it does not hesitate like this. If this is not normal please tell me what might be wrong with it or if I simply need to make an adjustment. Thanks a lot, Mike.

What esc is on it? My guess would be that the esc is set to brake for 2 seconds then reverse. I have mine set like this to avoid extra wear and tear on the motor.

It's all as it came new and the manual says it's a XPS Micro Electronic Speed Control. That makes since about avoiding wear and tear and you're right it does brake before it goes into reverse. I read all the directions and I don't see anything that says you can alter this. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah Mike, that is how it works, there's a delay on the reverse to keep you from stripping anything. How do you like it so far?

Well then if that's how it's supposed to work it's as good as new. Rips in the living room HeHe!!!, can't wait to get it on the track. I think it will be a nice change of pace from the Hyper 7 Pro on occasion. Thanks Nicholas, Mike.

OK how about one more question then:
Can you tell me what the two top adjusting knobs on the transmitter do. I read the instructions and it doesn't make sense to me. The lower ones are for the throttle and steering trim, easy enough, but the top ones are Throttle ATV (Adjustable Travel Volume), it says it lets you independently preset the maximum travel of the throttle servo on either side (high/low) of neutral. Is this for vehicles with an actual throttle servo like a gas car, etc.??? If so I would assume they do not apply to this vehicle. Thanks again to all, Mike.

Usually that's more of a nitro thing I think, but can be used for electric. It allows the throttle range to be greater or less. I believe it's also called the "endpoint adjustment" (add dohickey to the end if you're like me :D). All it really does is set/limit the amount of travel the trigger must go to get to full throttle, brake and/or reverse. Or something like that.;)
