I have a t-maxx and just recently had to lean the carb dramaticly to get it to run right. Checked all contributing factors..glow plug, fresh fuel, checked the lines preasure and all. Just read on traxxas website that could be dirt in my carb. Could someone tell me the correct way to clean a carb especially if it needs to be removed...Oh and could anyone recomend an affordable in line filter part # if possible...

Any help would be appreciated.....

Well,
what I usually do is clean the engine case first, so that when I take the carb off no dirt falls in. After I have the carb off, I use alcohol to clean it, I usually spray a lot of alcohol into the carb to make sure any small dirt particles get washed out. But make sure you clean the out side first, and try to cover the open ends of the carb with cloth or something that doesnt release a lot of lint.

Then I'll check the throttle link, and ill move it. If it feels rough, that means you have to take the carb about and clean it thorally. Check your manual on that one.

This is the method I use on my OS.12cv and it still runs GREAT and its roughly been through 2 1/2 - 3 gallons of gas.
