Can I use the deans 3 pin connector for my batteries on my electric car?

Yes I used to but I cant remember how to solder them (its on the package if I remember correctly). They are a pain to solder and have more resistance than the standard ultra connector though. They are a little smaller and easier to pull apart is my memory is correct.

are they better than regular tamiya plugs?

I would guess so but I dont have much knowledge of the tamiya plugs. I dont even look at the things just clip them right off. :)

A piece of rubber is probably better than tamiya plugs....:D I wouldn't recommend those plugs for batteries though. The current that motors draw would probably melt those. If you're gonna get better plugs, I'd suggest the deans ultra plugs (the only resistance is that of the wires  ). Powerpoles are also good, but aren't polarized, but may be a bit easier to solder. Deans are pretty easy as well, especially after you solder about 5. Then you get the hang of it.:)

I just did my first deans plug not all that hard and looks pretty good. Also im using the Ultra plugs on a micro and looks fine.
