Hi all,

I just dissected a GWS 7 cell 2100 Mah pack to make a folded 6 cell to fit in my little mini piper (yes I'm new at this:-). I needed a 7.2 volt pack to power the GWS speed 300 motor for a good, long time. Assuming what I did will work (please feel free to let me know if I'm barking up the wrong tree here), what I need to know is at how many amps, and how long should I charge my alleged 7.2 volt 2100 Mah pack. I have a HiTec CG-340 peak charger from Hobby-Lobby. I also have a wall charger that came with an 8.4 volt 1000 Mah pack. Would this charger work?

Hi,
I would definitely use the peak charger. A reasonable starting current would be 1.0A, check on the cell's temperature along the way. Warm at the end of the charge is normal, but if they feel hot, pull things apart.
Regards, Dave

I also have a CG340 peak charger.

Typically I charghe NIMH motor packs at 1C to 1.5C

The 340 only goes to 1.5 amps on nimh, so that would be less than 1C 2.1 amps, so fi it is NIM, go for 1.5amps and let it run.
