Hi all,

I'm new to the board and new to RC cars...
I plan to get a new set of tires for my E-maxx. I want to get tires for the track I drive on : it looks like some medium packed dirt.
I can't decide between "Bow Tie" and " Mulcher" Pro Line tires. I want to stay with standard size cause I don't want to chane my stearing servo to use 40 serie tires.

Can someone explain what thread pattern should be with each type of track surface ?
This would help a lot to learn more about RC Mts :D

Regards

Mathieu

Get the Bow Ties. They will grip good on that kind of dirt. For loose dirt use the mulcher's.

I don't have experience with those specific ones, but I know RCCA has a tyre comparison chart in one of their issues.

As a general rule of thumb, shorter spikes and softer rubber compounds for harder surfaces, harder compunds and longer studs/spikes for softer dirt. The best advice I can give you is to talk to faster racers at your local track or just check out their trucks and see what the predominant tire seems to be for that location. Also read read read!!! Use the search engine on these and other RC boards to find your answers first. You'll be amazed how much info you learn and how quickly. Good luck in your RC endeavors!!!! I hope you have as much fun as I've had/am having!!LOL Later...............torque
