I have a plate of carbon fiber that I want to fabricate some parts off of, namely a chassis or shock towers. How can I properly cut this without splintering the plate? and ruining my investment. The plate is .075" thick. Thanks for any help.

We use a wet band saw

You don't want to breathe the dust.

Thanks-
Could you possibly use a Dremel tool?

I would think so with the proper bit.
I personally have not tried it.

Buy the Roto-Zip cutting tool. That thing is amazing, it will finely cut through anything and with great detail. They sell them at Home Depot.

Your question was pretty much answered, but to set it straight, carbon fiber and graphite are different, carbon fiber gives that "carbon fiber look" with the 2 colors, where graphite is just a plain solid blackish-grey.

the only thing that i have found the i like the rotozip for is cutting holes in drywall for outlets and other things, for detailed work, i found that it was hard to control, for rought cuts i think it works ok, but for detailed work i would not recommend it.

whatever you use, wear rubber gloves a plastic jacket, and a resperator with face sheild. don't get any of that dust or slinters in or on you
