The Hitec HS-5925MG (digital)
Torque 103 / 128 oz. Speed is 0.10 / 0.08
This one uses a High Performance Coreless
or
Airtronics 94357Z ERG-VR High Speed (analog)
Torque is 100 / 125oz speed is 0.09 / 0.07
This one uses a Coreless motor
I current have the hitec, but it makes so much noise, is it worth it to go with the airtronics so that it doesnt have the noise and performs better?
i heard the digital is good because of the centering is that true?

I own Hitec, Airtronic, JR and Futaba servos. IMO, Airtronics are better qualitiy than the others. But I have grown to like the JR servos.
I use a 5945 for steering and it's noisy too but works great now that I have enough power to it.
If you already own it, I wouldn't bother getting a new one unless you are having problems or it needs to be replaced? Just to save the money!

I have had many problems with Hitec servos in the past. I will never buy another one. But, that's just my opinion. I would get the Airtronics - I'm going to buy a 94758 pretty soon to replace my Hitec.

I don't know if the Airtronic's servo has metal gears but the Hitec one does so that is something to consider.

I bought a new Hitec, 625 or 645mg, can 't remember, but it crapped out after two races as a steering servo in a B4.
Another brand that makes nice servos at very reasonable prices is Futaba.

Some of them work well, some don't. Quality control seems to be an issue. I sent one in after it failed, got a brand new one, and it failed within a month.

I like Hitec servos, as I feel they're a great "bang for the buck" purchase, but I do believe they're a bit behind numerous other companies in the quality department. On the other hand, it's often cheaper to buy two Hitecs than it is it buy one Airtronics. Ya, Airtronics servos are awesome, but they're also overpriced. Personally, I'd say go JR if you're looking for the best. I think Futaba makes a fine servo, but from little I've looked at them, they're overpriced.
Oh, and if you're choosing between digital and analog, there's not much choice in my eyes. Digital servos are the only way to go if you can afford them.
And lastly...yes, Hitec has some quality control problems, but my shop sells a helluva lotta 645's, and almost all of our customers w/ monster trucks or 1/8 buggies run a 645 for their steering, and many of them for throttle and braking duties as well, and I can't remember the last time someone brought one back.

i love the 94357's they work really well and have metal gears except the bottom gear is plastic. the new jr servo is really good. a friend of mine that races for them from AZ has it and it is faster than either and as all metal gears except it has a metal and plastic bottom gear in one. the small part is metal for strenth but the larger part is plastic for less radio interference. the number on the new jr is 8800F. And they are close to the same price as the airtronics. Everyone I have talked to on this servo is that it centers alot better than any other servo as well. speed is .07 torque is 108 oz.

I don't like Hitec. They have quality issues and center bad. Very annoying especially in Touring when the car wanders down the straightaway. I toss in my Futaba servo in the same car.. same setup.. and it's straight as an arrow. I've done this many times to people with Hitecs. But that's just with my experience with them in Touring. I'd go for the Airtronics servo. Great quality. You get what you pay for. Alternates would be Futaba, JR... or even KO Propo. They make some very awesome servo's as well!!
As for the noise, digital servo's sound noisy because they are always searching for center. Thats why you may keep hearing a buzzing sound when the car is just sitting there. And yes, they do center better. But the highspeed ones may seem too twitch for some vs an analog servo.
