Hey carlsenjesper.
New York City is NOT Big on R.C.
I live in Brooklyn, New York(in New York City); and I`ve been looking for a R.C. Car Track for a few months now.
I`ve found out that there is NO R.C. Car Tracks in New York City(at least for On-Road).
But; I`ve also heard that there will be a R.C. Car Track in the Bronx.(On-Road on Carpet and InDoors.)
A hobby shop called Bruckner Hobbies is supposed to be setting it up in a school.
It wasn`t set - up during the Holidays.
Take Care.

they run 1/10 sedan and 1/8 on-road over at floyd bennet field in Brooklyn.
course is set up with fire hose it can get pretty competative out there at times
it's not true organized raceing but it is A good first step into the world of raceing.

Hey dyslexic; Thanks for the Track Info.
I`ve heard about those guys setting - up that Track out there when the Weather Gets Warm.
I`ve heard it`s really wild racing out there.....Ha Ha! I`m past the crazy stuff.....I have a Family.
Thanks

I was there quite often last season and it wasn't as crazy as you may think.
lots of guys bring there kids along myself included. the best time to be there is in the morning befor the 1/8 guys get there. they tend to show up after 12.
the track setup is changed fairly often but the surface it high grip.
I'd recommend giveing it a shot before you completly write it off.

Thanks dyslexic.
It sounds alright. I might try it out. When will they start it up.....after April?
-But-
I know/heard the guys over there aren`t to crazy with the rules.....but I`m using a 23-Turn Motor this year.
Can I race with a 23-Turn Super Stock Motor over there?
-AND-
I DON`T WANT TO HEAR: Lose The Race - Lose Your Car.
I`m NOT with that.....Ha Ha!.....Serious.
I just want to see how I`ll hold out with other racers.
Thanks
Take Care.

at one point a few years back it was like the wild wild west but it's taken a real turn for the better in the last 2-3 years. things like that did go on there and probably still do to some extent but i've seen that just about everywhere to one degree or another but in my experiance it's mainly the drag racers, most of uss spend too much cash to chance it like that.
as for the start of the season I'm sure as soon as the temps are over 50 and the ground is dry someone will be out there.
I haven't seen to many electrics out there mainly nitro TC's.
If you can drive a clean line and can maintain speeds of at least 40 - 45 Mph you should do just fine just let the fast guys pass ya then it's all good.
it tends to get really busy on the weekends from around 11 to 4 pm but the area is open 7 days a week and the hose is stored on site so if you get the urge to run you can swing by anytime the sun is shining.

I`ve heard it was Crazy out there.
I`ve also heard they do run alot of Nitro Cars out there.
I`m Only into Electric R.C. and my car goes about 30-35 MPH. I want to race on more of a Track-like set-up.
Alot of R.C. Car Tracks have ROAR Rules; and all of my 2 Cars Break the Rules.....Ha Ha!
-I only like Tamiya Bodies.
-I have Tamiya Super Stock Motors
-I only use Rubber Slick tires
-I use DuraTrax - Sanyo Cells
-I only(so far) use Tamiya Rims/Wheels
No Track will let me Race. I can Only Practice on the tracks.
I will check it out.
Take Care.
Thanks

The only organized electric racing close to NYC is Willis Hobbies in Miniola LI. They run an indoor Winter series. 1/10 stock/modified any car, batteries etc. Also 1/18 scale. QURC meets in Cunningham Park (Queens) in the summer. We race nitro and electric, but nitro trucks are the popular class.

cnroman.
Please tell me more about this QURC Race Track set-up.
Cunningham Park, Queens is as New York as you can get.....Sounds Good.(I`m from Brooklyn.)
I only have Electric On - Road Cars.
-You guys race Electric On - Road; or only Electric and Nitro Trucks?
Tell me what`s up.
Thanks.

We run every weekend of the summer. We run gas and electric. Mostly it's nitro Monster Trucks, nitro 1/10 scale and buggys. I'm one of a few regulars that run electric on road and MT (E-Maxx). Anything goes. You can check out the forum
