My Stampede what sould...

I have a Traxxas Electric Stampede.
I am thinking of getting a modified motor
for it. Something like a 16 or 17 turn double or triple. Can anyone recommend a motor for me? I would not like to spend more than $55.

The best option is the *Trinity speed gems 2.
They are a bout $30 and are fully rebuildable.

The "Ruby"(16) and "saffhire(17)."
What kind of speed controll do you have?

dont get a new motor untill you get a new speed control, if your on a buget you might want to concider a traxxas xl-1 i have one its okay ive used a 13t double on it but it gets very hot traxxas said use a 16t + so the motor you are concidering will work fine. and the speed contron mounts directly onto your msc mounts, it costs 50 at your LHS and 41 including shipping at tower, so save if your money if you have to but first get rid of your msc

Peak Aurora mods are rockets for around $50. My friend had a 14 that was faster than a speed gems 10! Now thats fast!

Dont get a mod motor until you get a good ESC. If you want reverse then you could go with a Rooster for around $70 (handles 15+ motors, or a Reactor for about $90+ ( 12+ motors. If a forward only is an option then thereis the ExplorerII for $50 (15+ motors). I use the ExplorerII in my Stampede with a 17T SpeedGem and its a great combo.

I used to have the traxxas xl-1 ESC on my stampede, but I wanted more reliability. So I switched to the Duratrax Streak ESC and it makes the truck go WAY faster.

The Rooster will work fine with the 17T motor.

the tekin rebel is just as cheap as the rooster and can handle down to 10 turns!

hey, i have a stampede, about three months ago i was in the same place as you. I got a rooster, and a speed jems 15 turn, theis thing flys!!!! If you want to go reaaly fast then get a pair of stadium truck tires, slap em on, and lower your suspension. My stampede flys with this set-up. Peace out. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif
