I can see Rustler, Stampede, or other basher trucks wanting this but your not likely to get much support from the racers with the T2,3,4, or XXXT style trucks. Bead locks weigh considerably more then standard wheels which can mean a lot in racing.

Beadlocks are horrible. Associated used to make 3 piece rims but they are much heavier and the tires dont stay on. It is much easier to put rims in the oven for 15 min when you want to change treads.

more cost effective though i think its a matter of preferance

Ya, think about it. You spend like $40 on wheels, nd for around the same price, you can have wheels to last ages. Never glue again! Sorta........

I'd take 2 sets of 4, all Nitro rear/electric front style, one set each 'Pede!
I got a reply this morning from Maximizer stating that "there is too little continuity among the brands and styles (stadium trucks) to make a beadlock feasable."
I replied that a 2.2" beadlock designed to fit a Tamiya TLT-1 should fit a whole lot of other cars out there and would probably be embraced by the rockcrawling community as well as the scale modeller community. We will see.
2.2 beadlocks?

I can't see how theres that much difference in 2.2" rims, the Nitro MT/MT2, RS-4 MT, TLT, E-Pede (and with the right work the N-Pede), E-Rusty (and the some of the same work on the Nitro Rusty and Nitro Sport, probably a BIG market there), and with a different wheel center the Assosciated, Losi, HPI Rush, and the Evaders could all use them.

I'd definitely consider beadlocks for my Stampede. I want it to be really easy to replace tires.

Associated and losi have a different offset, AE makes a 1/4" axles wheel as well as a 3/8", the new losi quick change wheels, and then the hubbed wheels, there are all kinds of different off set for those, not to mention fronts and rear....etc. Basically if they wanted to service everyone they'd have to make about 10 different wheels, and that would just be of one spoke pattern.

Why not make a variety of centers for the different brands of trucks and a variety of rim sections in different widths and offer them for wide, narrow or standard width. I can't really see them being a big seller with the racers so much as I can with bashers due to the extra unsprung weight though.

I have a set of beadlocks at home that I bought of of sas-rc.com (who no longer apears to be in busness)..... But anyway, I paid 130-something for them almost a year ago, used them for a little while then decided they were too heavy. I will be more than willing to sell them for a good price (they are just sitting around in my closet after all). If anyone is interested send me an email (scorder@makeever.com). If anyone wants to see pics I can take them tomorrow.
I will be 100% honest here, they are a tad "dinged" from running, I tryed using extra hard foam to stop it but it seemed to make no difference. But Im sure someone can smooth them out and make them bling again.
