I feel kinda stupid asking all the questions ive been asking lately but I just need to hear some opinions. 1) In my evader im running an original Trinity Speed Gems Quartz 19x2 motor, what would be the best gearing for this motor for just bashing? Ive got the factory gearing already and ive ordered another pinion which was a 16 tooth I believe down from the factory 20 just for a stump pulling torque and power down low where I want it for in the house play and around the yard stuff but what would you guys think would be the best overall gearing. 2) What do you think the maximum power rating of this motor is in amps or watts? I would just like to know a ball-park guess of the amp requirments that my battery could see. I already know the ESC im getting can handle it but just out of curiousities sake I was wanting to know. Thanx for any input.

16T will be fine. You may find yourself with less than acceptable top speed. If so, gear up a tooth or two to gain back the speed.

Less teeth on pinion = faster acceleration/more low end torque & less top speed
More teeth on pinion = slower acceleration & higher top speed

As you can see it's a balancing act. Lower turns require less teeth becuase they lack the low end torque.

As far as your motor goes, it's hard to say without acutually dyno'ing it. Comm wear, brushes, magnets, etc all play important variables in a motors performance.

Good luck

Thanx for your input. Yea I know all about what happens when you change pinions and thats why I ordered the 16T because I wanted power really way down low where I like it for low speed running. Im not all about being fast I just care about all around power and I figured for the type of driving I do with it, a small pinion would be best to better suit the power of the motor. I wish I could dyno my motor though, if I had to guess though its prolly something in the output range of 60 watts or less just on average but it sure would really be nice to know where all the power really is like I could see with a dyno. Too bad there isnt anyone around here that I know of that has one.
