I want to build my first on road mini mainlly for drifting (i dont want to buy one because that takes all the fun out of it) and I have no idea where and how to start. If any one here has done this can you please show me what their project is, how you did it, what steps did you take what peices did you use, and how much did it cost to build? Or if you know of a place where i can get info on building my first mini for drifting

If you do not want to post it up can you please email me at pain2livwit@gmail.com or IM me at FroMDAGraV on aim.

Sorry for the trouble and thanks for the help

thats the problem with rc cars...you can't scratch build a car.....so far i know only one guy who did but he is super good at it (thorbobrc) With boats...yes you can build a scratch built.......i wanted to build a 1/12 pan car but aftery calculating how much it would cost me it turned out even more than if i were to buy one.......this stuff needs skill....if this is your first car start off with buying one......i know i didn't but its because my dad got skillz lol :D im not saying that you dont....just saying my opinion

I want to build a custom RC...you know i bet it wouldn't be too hard if you did certain things...

try...making a chassis out of plastic? all you'd need is a dremel, scroll saw, and some other minor tools... you could make a whole truck if you had the skills...and keep the $$ on the low-end.. infact, I plan to do so...the only thing you need is a radio and a drivetrain...

drivetrain - why not buy some cheap t-maxx parts? you could get the diffs and driveshafts for minimal amounts and make that work, custom fab some parts to fit and you're up and running!!

in fact, i plan to do just that...with a t-maxx drivetrain, but i'm going to make a high-clearance, solid-axle.... 4-link

IRT ^^ I have had rc experience for more then 4 years and now i want to build one from nothing this time.

IRT^ That sounds real cool. i was thinking on geting like the rear diffs or the hole drivetrain from an xray and mix up the chassis between a xray and a micro rs4. what do you guys think can it work? or what should i do?
