has anyone ever investigated the use of lithium ion batteries??? it seems that these would be a natural fit with RC hobbies... they have equal or better capacity than NiMH and are half the weight... at least they are in cell phones and other devices...
Does anyone know anything about this???

I dunno about the Lithium cells. Might have a higher capacity, they also have a higher price tag. I think that they are priced out of the R/C range.

well, for reference, a typical NiMH battery for a cell phone is in the 50-60 dollar range, the lithium battery is about 10-20 more... I can't imagine that is out of the price range of the RC hobbyist or racer... maybe it has something to do with the draw rates, I know these cars have a hefty amperage draw on the batteries...
