Well, I finally got around to trimming the body and drilling the post holes. I still need to put some of the decals on, but for all intents and purposes, it's finished.
Since I live in Texas and so does Traxxas, I wanted to go with a Texas theme. I also didn't want to go with just another pickup truck body, so I bought a Pro-Line Humvee Militia, not the H2 wannabe. :p This actually ended up increasing the level of difficulty quite a bit, because this body is very detailed in its 3D rendering of the actual Humvee's body panels. As a result, it was difficult to maintain the straight lines and minimize seepage under the masking tape due to it pulling up out of tight crevices. If I had to do it over again, I think I would strongly consider going with a Chevy Suburban body or one of the other smooth SUV bodies.
This was done with Pactra rattle cans. The colors I used were blue metallic backed with indy silver, red metallic backed with indy silver, and pearl white backed by fluorescent white backer which was then backed with indy silver.
Here's the driver's side, which features Maxx Mashers mounted on the stock wheels that I painted to match the color scheme. As you can see, I angled the lines so that it appears that the flag is draped diagonally across the truck. I didn't want to do just the star on the hood with the top of the back white and bottom of the back red with a horizontal line. I thought this made it look a little more interesting.

Here's the passenger side, which features Maxx Mashers mounted on RPM's new Chrome-Blue Wide-Offset Monster Spider rims. As you can see, the flag also appears on this side.

My next step (well, after decals) is to try and mount my wireless mini-cam behind the driver's side windshield to get a driver's-eye view from inside.
