Okay, it's that time of year ... time for a new R/C setup. Last year, it was a Clod, the year before was an RS4 Sport. This year, you guys help me decide.

The factors
The budget this year is $400, maybe plus some if I'm good. Don't include the cost of the radio.

I already have the Clod, RS4 Sport, and an RC10GT.

I live in a subdivision, and normally run on a mixture of grass and pavement (obviously, all pavement for the RS4).

The local track runs indoor carpet electric touring (alternates between roadcourse and oval). I don't race right now, but have considered it a couple times.

I'm not sure how tolerant the neighbors will be of screamin' nitro engines ... I've yet to run the GT since moving here. On the other hand, I can always drive a bit and run in the local high school parking lot, or at K-Mart after hours or something.

I think I'm leaning towards an on-road sedan, but will consider just about anything at this point.

Pick your favorite chassis, and then give me some setup ideas if you want - ESC, Motor, Engine, body, tires, whatever.

The kits I'm heavily considering are:
RS4 2 Pro (Electric)
TC3 Racer
Nitro RS4 2 Racer
Nitro RS4 2
Nitro MT Racer
... or whatever you suggest.

I actually priced out the following combo, and then winced a bit - it was closing in on $500 real fast.

Nitro RS4 2 Racer
RS4 2-Speed Tranny Kit
Trinity/Picco .15 Pull Start & Round Exhaust
Trinity/Picco header for round exhaust
Pipe of some sort

Any suggestions?

I would have to go with the T-Maxx also. I dont own one (yet) but its on the list. Think of the Clod with nitro power and run time. Just refuel and go again. No waiting to charge batts or let the motors cool.

I'm gonna have to endorse the TMaxx too...I've had many MANY kits in the past, but my new TMaxx might be #1. It's just a blast; you'll be glad you spend your $$$ on it if you grab one.

If you're set on getting a touring car, I'd look into the new Mugen MTX w/the Nova 12! It's ~$450, but worth it especially if you already have a radio. Or check out the new OFNA OB4; ~$280 gets you a fully decked out car w/extra parts & tires. Good luck spending your money http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Wow. I'm somewhat suprised at all the votes for the TMaxx so far. I had considered adding it to the list of kits in my first post, but didn't because I would probably spend the money on my clod (trick chassis, shocks, wheels, etc.) before I bought another monster truck right now.

I guess I'm sort of in the mood for some low-slung SPEED. Nitro + Sedan body + 2 speed tranny ... yummy. I don't know a whole lot about Mugen stuff - I'm familiar with HPI through the my RS4 and the local hobby shop.

I'm trying to talk my brother into buying a TMaxx though, so maybe I can see if I like his before I empty out the piggy bank.

... Decisions, decisions.

I'm not sure what type of math you're doing there, but $200 plus $100 plus $100 plus $50 is....

$450!!! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif lol

i keep blowing money on my electric cars, the t-maxx looks scary and tempting, and even though i make 360 dollars a week (i work only 3 days!), i don't want to blow all my money, i need to save money for a real car. **** it! RC is expensive!
