I've heard they are AWSOME. Radio box tape works really well to hold them down. I am build a boat and debating on whether to just build one or buy one. :D

You speak like they're expensive. Nah. Thats about the lowest you'll see.

I like tape, but its not trick looking.

i like to make a gasket using a bead of RTV and then use .050 button head cap screws to secure the lid. it looks pretty nice and the lid will never leak.

I might just make my own radio box

I DO NOT like the use of tape to hold down a radio box, imo my kyosho bladerunner had a better radio box than any other boat I have seen...

I couldn't belive that the instructions to my tunnel hull told me to seel the radio box with tape. And that thing leaks like crazy!

The Aeromarine radio boxes are good. Use the right linkage seals plus a good brand of tape and you shouldn't have any problems. Seeing how you are in the Snowbelt too, I've been using window sealing tape, it's just as good as Prather or any other that I've used plus cheaper!
To hold the box in place, you can use some small wood blocks with cup hooks screwed in to them so that rubber bands can hold it there.

Don't knock the tape dude. It is the best way; just have to get the right tape. My Microburst radio box is so air tight (using tape) that when the pushrods are pulled in the top bulges with the increaced volume. That is cool.

well it looks like you could get a piece of plexy glass and make it the same size as the lip on the radio box. Then you may be able to use screws or bolts and nuts on the bottom.

Don't know who makes it... I don't even know if Microburst makes their own or not. Here it is:

Microburst makes their own. It is usually color matched to the hull and box. I ended up by making my own clear lid for mine as I like to see if there is any moisture inside.
