Us old timers probably still remember the Tamiya 959, Kit #5859. I was wondering if they still made them. If not how much would a rolling chassis with body be worth? Anyone remember how much they sold for new?
Thanks,

I am trying to add a pic to this post but photopoint is down for maintenance. I wanted to point out the details that made this car high tech when it came out. The shocks had fuel tubing on top that acted like the piggy backs of today. Also it had a bellcrack type steering system and aluminum body posts. These features where very new to the hobby. In fact the '86 catalogue that I have has the following quote: "For more enjoyment Tamiya has created the exciting new sport of radio controlled off or on road racing." So anything that dates to the begining was cutting edge technology in R/C. It was fast, HIGHLY detailed, and could really handle compared to the competition when sold. It's only possible downfall might have been the weight of the car itself. Yet in some applications a heavier car can be an asset. Keep checking back and I hopefully will have a pic of it posted.
