If all the companies use the same matcher, and process, which most do, than it doesn't matter where you get them. Find the best price for whatever # battery packs you want is my advice.

All GP cells come from the same place. What you are looking for is honest matching numbers, customer service, and price. All battery matching companies are not created equal. There is a number of things a matcher can do to inflate there numbers. Source racing is not about that. They are an honest group of people with a quality product. And let's face it there prices are great.
I have run SRP cells for a while now in my own cars. The numbers on these cells are as good if not better than what is on the labels. And better yet those numbers stay true after many cycles. I have had great packs from other matchers that fall off after a few cycles. That's just not the case with SRP cells. I would not endorse them if I didn't believe in there product. Great customer service and a great price is just as important as good numbers.

I still recommend Maxamps. They offer a money back guarantee if their celss are not 117's or better. Plus they have the best prices.

Well, they say they are matched packs. They work fantastic. And they put out the voltage they advertise and they have the best price. I have had one pack from them charge up to 4002mah before peaking and avg. 1.17-1.175 But I guess like Dodge and Chevy, everyone has their opinion and favorite.

Charging has nothing to do with voltage average. Matching numbers are generated using matching machines that calculated the average voltage during discharge. All the virgin cells are not 1.17's
thanks

the 1.17-1.175 was measured while DIScharging at 30amps

Really, so you have a Turbomatcher sitting around at your house? What are you using to get these numbers?
If they cells were matched, they would have labels on them. Plain and simple. The packs sold by Maxamps are not matched, and are not 1.17+. You say they work fantastic, but have you ever felt the power of an actual 1.170+ matched pack? Probably not.

Guy at the track has one. Maybe maxamps is false advertising but maybe i just got lucky with the pack I tested? Who knows? I just have fun racing. :D

max amps 1.17+ guarantee= total bs. when cycled on a gfx at 30 amp discharge and 6.5 amp charge the average voltage was like 1.142 on the worst i got and 1.148 on the best ones. the ir was also through the roof

Some companies offer "factory matched" cells. If you ask me this is just a marketing angle used by GP. Keep in mind if they don't have labels they are not matched. Or at least matched in the way we as RC guys know it.
Matching is just the process to weed out the weak cells. And to put like cells in a group or pack. This way you don't have packs with 5 good cells and one dud. The factory matched cells are basically supposed to be above a certain voltage. They don't take runtime or internal resistance in to consideration. These are important things to consider when picking a pack. I am not saying the GP factory matched packs are bad. What I am saying is the matching process that Source goes through is much more precise. It is like compairing apples to oranges.
I always say buy what you can afford. When buying a truely "matched" battery pack Source's price and customer service is hard to beat.
