I need three ESC's since my HFX turned out to be crappy and i'm guessing needs to be replaced.
#1: For a 21t motor (at the lowest) to run in my tamiya hornet. Prefer LOW cost, forward and reverse. LOW cost is key!!!!
#2: For a Radio Shack Golden Arrow Buggy to run a ~25t to 27t (stock) motor just to hop it up a little, unless anyone has SUCCESSFULLY tried and ran a slightly hotter motor in one and can make a recommendation on what to use with the stock electronics. That would save me the trouble of fitting in new gear.
#2: For a Original RC10 Buggy, unknown motor/gear combo since I haven't even got it in yet. This car will be used for bashing and donuts in the front yard so it may get a very hot motor, I haven't decided yet. Prefer lower cost but I know this one won't be as cheap since it may need to run a low turn motor. This is what I got the HFX for and I guess that turned out to be a bust. I'm not that concerned about reverse on this one.
novak XRS can handle down to 15 turn. good esc for play. average price around $60.00
For 1 and the first number 2, I would say go with an MC230CR ESC. Works great, small, has forward and reverse with reverse lockout and puts out 6V of BEC. Exact ESC I put in my newphews T3 and he loves it.
For the last one, maybe a GM V8 or some other ESC with no motor limit. If you can get a used novak cyclone I would also try that.

What about the Traxxas XL1 for a low cost ESC? I seen them frequently for sale low cost. Usually sub $30.

ID get one of the new LRP AI ESC $55 and can handle down to 13t motors. It has reverse but if you ever plan on racing it CANT be turned off so it wouldnt work. As far as the other 2 if just buy something used or something look around might get the futaba 230cr for $25 shipped used.

the XL1 (i wouldnt use under a 19t with it) are OK but just OK. If you can find one for $25 shipped maybe less it would be ok but (I) would not spent over $20 shipped on one. I also have a duratrax sprint it'sd decent and you should be able to fine one of them for $20 shipped. Just for reference I have a XL1, 230CR, and the MC230CR. THe 230CR is a much better ESC in every way than the XL1, and the Sprint and worth a few extra dollars but there are better out there to. Also look for a LRP runner seen them used in the $25 price range to.

(Typo) the 230CR is the same as the MC230CR i ment for one of them to be duratrax sprint.

Well for the hornet and the Radio Shack car, I'm looking for bottom dollar. IF I even bother to mod the radio shack car. The Hornet will never see below a 21t as the gearing can't be changed and anything less than a 21t is nearly pointless in there. The 19t I tried wasn't worth the effort.
I've looked at the 230 and 330 futaba ones but the prices are a little high. I think for the hornet, the XL1 might be ok if the cost stays LOW. It can do a 20t (which will run the 21t I leave in the car now) and the price point is nice.
The RC10 car, I'll get a good one but I need the car to arrive first.

What about the M210CB? I can't find much info on it but a few links I found say it can do down to an 18 or 20t motor.

definately look into duratrax escs if you want bang for your buck. $22.99 on tower.

I was just checking those out, probably what i'll go with on the low end.
The high end I'm still undecided.

For a cheap forward only ESC that can handle motors down to 20 turns: Duratrax Intellispeed Auto Sport Forward Only for $23. I have a Intellispeed 12T F/B and it works well.
If you want to put some hot motors in your old RC10 I would recommend a Novak Dually for $89. It has no motor limit.
For the Radio Shack car? I have no idea!

Why do you need three escs? Unless you are planning to run the three cars at the same time just buy one good quality esc and swap it out when you want to use the different cars.

I may run all three simultaneously.
Thanks for the suggestions!
