I have heard a lot about how some radios will work with some receivers, but not others. Was there an article on this in RCCA? If so what issue, I would like to get it.

got to first match up the AM FM PCM signal types, then the frequency 27mHz 75 mHz... then you get matching crystals.

Does that mean that any 75 Mhz channel 88 FM radio will work with any brand of 75 Mhz channel 88 FM receiver just as well as the original equipment that came in the box? That makes sense, but do you loose any range or anything?

I'd be careful about mix matching radio gear. I tried a hitec crystal in my futaba radio and it didnt work at all. As you can see with novak, and tekin recievers there sold as manufacturer brands (futaba, airtronics, ect) The only reciever that I know of that will work with all brands of transmitters is FMA's Warlock receiver.

even with frequency and channel identical. its always wise to stick with the same brand reciever as your radio. for some reason other brands dont work as well with a different brand radio

I have a Novak, bunch of Tekin's, one Airtronics, a Hitec and a few Futaba Rx's with three different Futaba Tx's. All are on FM ans I use Futaba crystals. I havn't had a hit with any of these and have raced with all except the Airtronics.

This doesn't mean that every manufacture's Tx will work with any Rx, it just personal observation.

it would be smart to use it only if the box says it works with your brand whatever but you gotta get the basics down first.
