I went through the setup as per the manual listed here:
http://www.hitecrcd.com/Support/Manuals/HFX.pdf

It seemed to work ok BUT when I go WOT it just shudders. I'm guessing that's the current limiter kicking in but I have the dial set to MAX and it still does it. Could this be from a weak battery or just a glitchy HFX?

I have that exact same ESC and I didn't have much luck with it either. Mine had similar problems. I put my old esc back and forgot about it for while. When I remembered I neded to return it, it was out of warrantee.

If you get yours fixed, please post back with the cure.

I had the same problems. Sent it in for warranty work and they sent me a brand new one back. Same thing was happening. Sold it for next to nothing after that. My advice? Stick to LRP or Novak. Been running a couple of Quantom Comp 2's for awhile now and not one problem. The bonus is that they are water proof.

Maybe it will work better with a cooler motor? I guess their 10t limit is a bit exaggerated. I guess I'll have to start searching for another ESC.

My HFX wouldn't even run a 15x2 Speed Gems wiht out glitching & thermaling.

If you are on a budget, I had good luck with the Novak Fusion $65 and Duratrax Intellispeed 12t, also about $65 i think.

It started out ok with a fresh battery but as I used it it got worse and worse. I guess I'll have to start over again.... I should have kept that old Novak NESC-1X I had a while ago.

I think I might have gotten it....

On a hunch I tried the setup again. This time instead of slowly applying the throttle during setup, I pulled it quickly. IT SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED!!!!

I took the car around the house real quick and it's running fine from what I can tell, no more glitchy acceleration. If you have one of these you might want to go through setup again and apply the throttle quickly to see if that helps!

It seems to be working now. I need to get a fresh battery, wait for this snow to melt and hit the street to be sure though.

I've read alot of complaints about this ESC though, MANY MANY complaints about the same problems I'm having.

Yeah same here. I had one in my TC3 with an 11t and it would get hot, but it always worked great, and the price was awsome!

Fresh battery and it works GREAT! Thanks for the input, and if you have trouble with one of these, go through the setup again and be sure!
