Note I copied this (my) thread from the original @ http://www.hpiracing.com/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number=2&SUBMIT=Go , where this whole project originally started. It is far from over, but closer than when I started ( http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif).

Consisting of a centered tank configuration, and a re-designed chassis, plus custom towers, braces (Yes, 2 of them), handling plates, and a few other goodies. Click the links to get caught up.......Sorry I didn't think to put the idea here sooner.

Okay, once again, for those who haven't been following this thread, here are the original thread's links:

My inspiration, Chris Marshall's project in the original thread posted by TC3 RACER, "*CENTERED* Tank on 1st Gen. NRS4..." ( http://www.hpiracing.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/005570.html ), http://www.rcmodels.com/hamrcclub/howto/rs4.htm (Whew)

My first response thread, Center Tank Conversion, MY way, Phase 1,
http://www.hpiracing.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/006313.html

And I just won't mention that last thread, Centered Tank Coversion, Phase II - Chassis, etc, that covered everything except the chassis...lol http://www.hpiracing.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/006849.html

Here's the final template for the chassis. It will be formed out of 7075 T6, 4mm aluminum (not 3mm like the deck), Note that the traingular holes (Marked w/ an “x”) will not be included in the aluminum chassis.

All, that’s left now is the Y-brace, rear tower, front tower, handling plates, and one or two other ideas. Almost there………

As always, I’m open to ideas, suggestions, feedback, criticism, kudos, etc………. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

you should make the wheels easy to remove, like on 1/8 on road. ANd maybe machine a transponder mount too.

Nah, not willing to go that far w/...........what I have (HPI).......I'd rather just drop the kit for a loss before turning it into something else 100%.......I'd buy the MTX-2 before I did soemthing like that......Wait a minute -->> I wouldn't do something like that.......

Thanks for the idea though. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif
