i usually dont get to high in the air (4-5 feet), but i usually get a lot of distance (almost 20 feet). i just build ramps out of wood from construction sites...
to get rid of grass you just dig it up...
if you want height make your jump have a steep lip to it and make sure it kinda curves from the bottom to the top like a big ski jump. if your jump is dirt you will have to pack it down a lot and repair it after it rains.

Yep, ski jump shape. That is the ticket.
For getting rid of grass use RoundUp. It kills anything right now !
Anyone ever drive RC cars on grass like a putting green ? That is pretty cool !

if you wanna make a loose dirt track rent a roto-tiller it will rip up the grass and loosen the dirt so you can make ramps.

Hey dogg,
If your really lazy and have some money you can order like 5 cubic yards of dirt from someone and get them to spread it for you. It would cost like 75 bucks tho.
Just and idea.

Get some thick plastic sheet like you use underneath the conrete in a basement or in your garden to keep weeds out. Lay out your track using that. Then leave it there a couple of weeks and come pick it up. The grass should be good and dead by then :D
Or just use a tiller and rake it out smooth.

Make it out of BRICK! It could be just like the old track at Indy! I'm just yankin' your chain. Use Roundup on the grass and then rent a rototiller and till up the now dead grass and then smooth it out, water it and let it dry.

cracker dust is awesome... although it could get in the tranny, or motor, or servo, or... you get the picture. once it rains like 2 or 3 times then it's almost permanenty packed down. it'll cost some dough though.

if you wanna make jumps, you should have something under neath the dirt for a base, so it'll be stronger and you wonlt have to use as much dirt
