i have one its the best charger if you on a budget cause you can charge nicd, nimh batteries, i twill also charge any 6+ cells out there so the tones and settings of the batteries might be a little confusing in the instruction but over all it's an awsome charger

I've been looking to get one of these too. They look like a great bang for you buck thing and have adjustable amp rates in .1 increments, perfect if you have many different capacities batts. Can anyone else give info on it please?

Awesome little charger. I've been recommending it to anyone looking for an inexpensive charger with great features. The 0.1 voltage increment is definitely a bonus especially if you're using the charger for other things like digital cameras and what not, like me! Even comes with a few ring/start-up tones.
However, the charger does run a little hot if you're using the internal powersupply. Hotter than most other competition chargers I have used. There is a template cutout on the bottom for a 40mm fan, but I guess they decided on not using it for cutbacks or whatever reason. This seems like the perfect remedy for solving the heat issue.
Again, totally awesome charger that will rival most competition chargers. Definitely a keeper in my book!

Sounds awesome. It's goin on the B-day list along with an RC18T:D (figured it'd be good to charge those little batts fast instead of waiting 3 HOURS!)

I would really like to see a comparison between the Duratrax Digital Piranha and some higher end chargers. I'm curious how well it actually charges a pack compared to say, a Novak Millinium Pro. My only complaint about the Duratrax is the limit on charge rate: 3.0 amps AC/5.0 amps DC. I use a Novak power supply so I can charge at 5.0 amps, but would like the option of charging at 6.0 amps on occasion.

its a great charger for its price, if you wanting a hi end charger and willing to spend $125 get it. Cant really compare it to a charger costing over twice the amount.

For a higher end charger, I like the Triton. Heck, I bought one. I use 7 cell matched GP3300 packs in my Emaxx. I get great performance from the charger and batts. The most important thing is that it doesn't false peak much.
The Digital Piranha does false peak alot on the same batts that don't false peak on the Triton. That's my biggest complaint about it. If you're willing to manually restart the charge to squeeze more charge in, then it's not that bad of a charger. At least the digital display will tell you how much charge you've put into it.

my pihranna doent false peak aolt, it does fine as long as the batts are in good shape. Actualy i have read tons of reviews and this is the first time i have seen someone say it false peaks alot.

I think mine false peaked once, but I think it was my cellphone going off. Haha! LOL
Seriously, my charger has never false peaked at all. I do keep my battery packs in good condition though. You can't blame the charger for false peaking if you have a 10 year old battery pack.

Good charger, very vesatile. charge software is nearly identical to the Triton.
My only complaint is it's ability to charge high cell counts and high amp rates on ac power. Still one of the best bang for buck and my favs.
