Well, I broke down and did it....hehe....I got an RC18T today! I'm really impressed with it so far! Man is this thing fast.....MUCH faster than a stock Mini T! I was very shocked! I was thinking of putting a Brushless system in...but, man...now I don't know...it's pretty fast as is! hehe :p
Here's the pics....

Watch for missing dogbones, dogbone retaining springs (in the outdrives) and shock spring lower cups. Those three items seem to fall out at the most inopportune times.I used CA to glue my shock spring cups in place and still looking for a way to keep the dogbones and their retaining springs in place.
I run a mamba in mine with the stock pack,an 8 cell nimh and tomorrow if repair parts arrive on a 3 cell lipo :D
Tis a fun little truck when it's running though Have fun
Peace

any pack made with gp1100 cells will work fine and the stock speed control is rated at 8.5 volts so a 7 cell pack will work fine.Maybe check cheap battery packs or maxamps for packs.I build my own so haven't had to look for ready mades.Just give yourself plenty of room to stop because Team AE in their infinite wisdom provided not a braking system but .....and I quote " more like an anti-lock braking system that slows but doesn't actually stop the truck/" *
Hope this helps

Yeah, the no brakes thing kinda surprised me, and it catches me off guard sometimes, when reverse all of a sudden kicks in! LOL

First things will probably be MIP CVD's for it, and a Reedy Mini-Max motor. Don't think I'm gonna go Brushless just yet. Then I might add Aluminum Shocks, Shock Towers, and Arms...and Titanium Turnbuckles. Think I might get the Graphite Battery Brace too.

If anyone is interested in custom painted Mini 1/18th scale bodies let me know. Just look through some of my threads that I started and you will find some of my work. I am not money hungry I basically charge $5 over the cost of body ($5 covers the cost of my equipment to paint and trim). I enjoy airbrushing and find that some people charge way to much for 1/18 custom designs. Just send me and email and let me know:)

On second thought I just tried going through my file to see if it would be easy to find one of my paitned mini bodies, but there are soo many threads that I gave up. Just email me and I will be happy to send you a pic or two of some painted bodies I've done.
