A buddy of mine is in engineering school and we are toying with the idea of designing and building a boat. Construction being either wood or fiberglass with carbon fiber or aluminum internal supports. He has access to lots of cool cad software and machines that will build your cad designed object... anyway, we've got some really cool things available to us. My big question here is, can someone recommend a really good book on hull design principles and general boat building design and terminology? We both have the desire to do the project, but we are a little lacking on what should go where, how things should be shaped, what that thing is called, etc. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Go into the www.rcstore.com site. There are several books in there that can be helpful. I highly recommend the books authored by John Finch.
