Hi, searched, but didnt find anything...
Just wondering, can you use car touch up spray paint on lexan, or will it not be flexible enough, and just crack everywhere? Just wondering becuase I have some at home, and want to use it on a DIY canopy for my micro heli, but want to know if it will be OK or not...
(I dont mind if it doesnt, I have RC stuff, but prefer the colour of the touch up paint...)
Thanks, Duane :D :D :D

as long as your careful when removing the canopy i think it should be fine ,not like a truck or car body that is being rolled and thrashed ,,mainly be for good looks,
but i could be wrong also ,,
just my $.02

My local croda paints rep suggested touch up paints ( lacquer ) would be ok for lexan bodies as there is enough elasticity in these paints (withn reason ).
I have painted bodies with resene and croda laquers in the past with ok results. :D

I used some Mopar/ Chrysler touch up paint on a Mini-T body, it has held up well, but it also has some pretty nasty chemicals in it, I'm probably lucky it didn't melt the body. I've only had so so luck with Dupli-Color on lexan, their Adheasion promoter should be used if you're going to use Dupli-Color paints and does work very well.

Depends on what the canopy is made of. If it's ABS or styrene, it should be fine. If it's lexan, you may be okay since the canopy doesn't have a lot of contact like a regular r/c body does. But, you would be better off using something with a flex agent in it.

its a bit down, post No.40...
I guess it will get flexed a bit, you sometimes have to bend the canopy a bit to get it to fit...

Something you also have to think about is that lacquer paints have been known to eat into and craze the plastic that they'e applied to, so be careful with it.
