Don't we all love Nikkos? I have a "quick" four hour nikko charger. Boy is that fast! Well I shouldn't trash talk nikko for it started me in this rc hobby. Of course my first R/C was one of those fake r/c.. even faker than nikkos. The ones with the wires and aren't realy radio controlled. More like wire controlled. They went forward and reverse turn. But when I got my first nikko, I tough it was awesome!! Even though it ran on 4 aa. heh when I started real R/C it was with a nitro so.. yeah It was V E R Y exciting for me.

My first rc was a radio shack tempest. I had little rc's before that, but I wouldn't call them even rc, more like, well, boring I guese. Then I got my gt. I got the radio shack car for christmas to hold me over when I was saving for the gt. When I got the radio shack car I thought nothing could ever go faster than this thing! I used that thing until there was nothing left of it. Then when I got eneough money to relieve the radio shack car I bought the gt. When I first clamped the throttle on that os cv I thought i had all the power in the world. Then As the years went by It started to get normal and natural, not boring, but just natural. When I got my picco I got that feeling all over again. Isn't rc great!!!

Nikkos? I had one, but it was too slow for me, the first R/C i had was a Tyco Wildthing, dat thing was fast, i used to jump in off binders and stuff, but cause i had little friction shocks, itd smash lol. :D Then I got my rustler and I was sooo nervous when I started it up cause I thought I was gonna smash it, lol.

Nikkos, geez. That brings back some memories eh? My "first" rc was one of those wire controlled suckers as well, but I remember my Red Nikko buggy. My brother had a twin black one. That was...ugh..13 years ago???

I have a Nikko Black Thunder. It is a 2 WD truck with engine sounds. Runs off a 7.2 volt battery and is slow and runs forever. There is a switch on the back that lets you change the tranny ratio. There is low for torque and high for faster speeds. I used to have a lot of fun with that thing when I was younger. :)

i know you're talking about nikko but my best tyco truck was called Hammer.. has anybody ever heard about those trucks or had one . it was fast for a tyco. i drove that thing so much , its back tires were bald. it could do wheelies until it was out of range. the only bad thing was it rolled if you were going top speed and turned. and i still have
it.... it also still runs after i don't know how many years of abuse. :)

I wished I loved Nikko's more. I just got an electric airplane with everything but a charger. The battery is compatible with the "4-hour" charger and I wish I hadn't thrown mine away or I could be out flying.

This wasn't my first car but it was probably the coolest until I got into real rc. It was the Tyco Hi-Jacker. There was a third channel and the body could pop up. It was pretty sweet but the body didn't do anything except make it look like a jacked-up Ferrari. It was fast though for being a toy. Then I tried to get some air and bad stuff happened. :D

i had a 4.8v (lol) nikko outlaw, it was slow with the body on but with the body off and a 7.2v pack duct tape to it, it flew lol, striped the crappy plastic gears in the tranny lol

My first R/C was a Tyco FastTraxx too. Then I had a Tyco Tirestorm which had tires that started about 3 inches wide and thinned up to about a 1/2 inch. I still have a Radioshack Flashtron w/ a Traxxas 20-turn in it. I also got my Stampede, TLO1, and my TC3.

Wow, Tyco's...bringing back memories!! I think the first one I had [that I can remember] was the Aero Turbo-Hopper [ Ebay Picture (http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1629261923) ] : like a rc10: ONLY TYCO!! YEAH!!! I also had a 4wd one that was gold on on a diff freq; so my dad and I could race; I always beat him b/c the grasshopper was 2wd and had a better battery life. I think my favorite Tyco was the hovercraft: it was black and red: AND IT WAS 3 CHANNEL; I was amazed of the technology. The fastest Tyco I had was a grey F40; I think if I didn't run it into a creek I could take on anyone @ my Local Track  ; man that was FAST. Anyways; just wanted to add my $.02!

my first rc was a radio shack van, or as i called it the shaggin wagon. It was pretty fast .I liked thing, until i drove it into a puddle no not through a mud puddle, but through it. Smoke was coming out of it and i just started crying, cuz i was only like 5. It was a good start for me, now it is sitting in my closet fried next to my brand new rustler which i love even more.

lol, i started with Nikkos back in 1988 and i still buy em ! (on ebay) ive made nikko/kyosho hybrid MT, a Associated/Tyco/Nikko hybrid pancar....i just bought a "near-mint" Nikko Hurricane 4wd buggy on ebay - why, u ask? (lol, i dont need anymore 4wd buggies..gotta optima, optima mid, monogram tornado, and its "twin", the mrc roadwinner) i got it cuz it was the first rc i ever "kept" and bonded with - my very first was a $10 nikko buggy that wasnt even "full-function" it went straight in foward and turned left in reverse, lol. i drove it once then took it apart. christmas of 88 i got a nikko "big bubba" - it was a 4wd MT with a 3xx motor. i drove it under a car on christmas day, breaking off some crhome trim, so it got returned for the Hurricane - i kept that hurricane for years...i cant remember why i threw it away...but now ive got another on its way to me ! :-)
