Just buy the Futaba (universal) style receiver & you can easily use any servo type with ease, with the exception of the old style Airtronics. On those you'll need to move the red wire to the middle to keep the servo from getting smoked. The new style Airtronics Z connectors solved that problem by putting the red wire in the middle,& is no longer an issue. All the other servos connectors can either be flipped of you can just use the radios reverse servo function to change their dirrection. The important to remember is that the red wire needs to be in the middle. Hope this helps.
By the way we have 3 Mars radios & 6 receivers & have never had any problems with them, & have used all the major brans of servos.
Railman,
Thanks for your reply. Let me see if I understand. I have a Ko Propo KR297FZ and as Novak XXL receiver that I just bought used with the Ex-11. Are you saying any servo with a standard futaba connector will work on these or are you saying to buy a new futaba receiver which takes a standard/universal connection?
Thanks

JYD, any servo that hit's Futaba's "J" type connector will fit just fine on your KO & Novak reciever. Shortly before they came out with the EX-11, they changed their plug wire pattern to match the Futaba, & that has since become the standard(or at least as close to one as we're gonna get) for all of them, regardless of servo brand. I'm certain of this because KO is all I've ever used for transmitters & recievers(in 12 1/2 years of racing), so you sjould have no trouble, just plug it in & have fun.... :)
Any one know if other manufacturers have servos which will work with the Ko Propo receivers or will the connectors always be an issue? Thanks
Got it now.. Thanks Grizzbob!!!!!

Just to clarify what I said above, you can order your receivers for different brand/style plugs. We have all KO receivers in the Futaba universal style in our cars. Futaba has a little directional slot in it and others have little notches & such. The old Airtronics were such that they could not be flipped over, so that it was impossible for the red wire to be in the wrong location. It just so happens that pretty much all servos will plug into the Futaba style receiver, & thats why they call them universal. You need to make shure what style your receiver is to be safe, and as long as it's not an old style Airtronics, you should be fine. Again, just to clarify. ;)
